However, lenders still assess the adverse credit event itself and apply policy rules around the type and timing of credit issues.
Lenders typically consider how recent the issue was, how severe it was, whether it has been settled, and what your credit conduct has been since. For example, an old, isolated missed payment is treated very differently from multiple defaults or an unsatisfied CCJ. Some lenders also have “hard stops” for specific events within certain timeframes, regardless of deposit size.
